What this timer does

Timer is a browser-based countdown timer for short everyday tasks. You can set hours, minutes, and seconds, use quick presets, add your own presets, pause or resume the countdown, and get an alert when time is up.

It is useful for studying, workouts, cooking, breaks, focus sessions, games, stretching, practice rounds, or any task where a simple visible countdown is easier than opening a full clock app.

How to use it

Set the duration with the wheel controls or choose a preset. Press Start to begin. While the timer is running, the setup controls stay out of the way so the countdown remains the main focus. Pause when needed, resume to continue, or reset to return to setup.

The settings panel includes browser notifications, alert volume, and a keep-awake option. If you enable notifications and your browser allows them, the page can show a notification when the timer finishes. The timer also plays a locally generated sound in supported browsers, and supported browsers can keep the screen awake while the timer is running.

Privacy and limits

The timer runs in your browser and stores recovery data locally on your device. Utiloza does not intentionally upload your timer duration or presets to a server.

Browser alerts and screen wake behavior are best effort. If a device sleeps, a browser heavily throttles background tabs, or the tab is closed, sound, notification, and wake-lock behavior may vary. For critical medication, safety, travel, or work deadlines, use a dedicated alarm app as a backup.

Useful details

Presets are best for durations you repeat often, such as a short break, a cooking step, a focus session, or a workout round. Custom presets stay on the same browser and device, so they are quick to reuse later.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add my own presets?

Yes. Set a duration and add it as a custom preset. Custom presets are stored in the browser on the same device.

Will it keep counting after refresh?

The timer stores a deadline while running, so it can recover after refresh and show the correct remaining time or finished state.

Why might sound not play in the background?

Browsers limit background audio and notifications to protect users. Enabling notifications improves the chance of being alerted, but it still depends on browser and device settings.
